Upside…down

Jumper: Topman   Trousers: Primark   Shoes: Primark   Bag: Primark   Watch: River Island

So the plan for this week was to have a nice week down in the hometown of Brighton, take lots of cool photos in lots of funky places but the reality is it has rained…A LOT! We managed to go out yesterday for lunch, that involved diving in and out quickly of a pub to avoid the crazy wind and painful rain and then decided after making it back to the car we were too wet and cold to try doing anything else!

Today we have actually had a lovely day though (hooray!), so made the most of it by taking the nephew out for a nice trip, (more of that to come at a later point), and then managed to dash about at the end of the evening, before the light faded to take some quick photos. Look came about after seeing a feature in Look Magazine about ways of wearing Mickey Mouse jumpers and like the way of teaming smarter trousers with a more casual top, equally vice versa as well! Will dig out the other images from it when get home.

Just few quick images from Brighton, have been incredibly lucky with some great weather here. All the fields look all lush and vibrant and the various colours of the sky have been incredible. Next stop this week will be Ibiza...

Week in...Brighton

Just a few images from the week down here in Brighton, have spent most of it going out in the sunshine and then quickly dashing for cover in a down pour but managed to get a few photos in between. The exhibition of the Union Jack designed items was in the Brighton Museum, to (rather obviously) celebrate the Jubilee, thank god for this free place to have a look around when needing cover! The long dress uses two flags by Jasper Conran and the last image with the tutu style dress is one by Vivienne Westwood. There is an image of our lovely food at The Grand Hotel on the seafront and some photos of outfits I was trying on whilst planning what to wear for a night out, I went with nether of these but do have to try on at least 5...6... OK more like 10 different options first!

The odd ones in between are just from wandering round town and having a good look in all the shops. I love all the vintage ones with their rails of clothing outside in different sections (the dungarees are for the sis as she is living in hers at the mo!), one of the best places is To Be Worn Again, here, has so many different rails all over the store (my favourite is the sequin and glittery rail!). Also I like Get Cutie and its retro style handmade dresses, here, and Jaba Yard, here. Any of the shops down there you can find some goodies in though and love that they are interspersed with memorabilia, photography, and random sweet shops! Mmmm...

Time for a little travel...back soon

OK so from tomorrow morning we shall be heading off for the wedding of the year (move over Kate and Wills!) so will be away from computers for a little while. Here's a few snaps from my time in Brighton, where I have had a great time enjoying some sunshine and some shopping! And spying some great street style like the girl above who had the most gorgeous tan oversized bag, should have asked where she got it from!

For the next week or so, while I'm away shall try and keep updating twitter and facebook page (like the rest of the Brighton snaps, here) so keep checking in on these for the time being and shall upload some photos on my return. Hopefully get some good wear out of all the holiday outfits that have been sat in my wardrobe...please don't rain! See you soon!

Homesick...bright on walls

Photos: All my own from Brighton town centre

Have been missing Brighton a bit recently, we get to go visit in a couple of weeks so will take some more pics when down there. Keep looking back to the photos have taken previously and one really bright day we were there taking lots of random pictures round the town centre, particularly of all the graffiti that's randomly on the side of a building or on telephone boxes etc. It probably all has meanings I don't understand but as far as images go I really like the bold colours and lines to them.

I have a couple of graffiti print dresses, like this one here from Topshop Unique that Olivia Palermo wears and one from H&M that is similar style to the D&G Fall/Winter 2011-12 prints. Will be taking some more pictures soon, promise, maybe even of those dresses! Also other images I particularly like of Brighton come from a photography shop on Sydney Street, here, called Zoing Image. If I had enough I would have a wall just to all of their bright canvas, might just have to stick to collecting the fridge magnets at the moment!

Brighton fun...time for the seaside!

Top photo - Dress and jacket: H&M   Plimsolls: Primark
Bottom photo- Top: Illustrated people for Topshop  Jeans: Topshop   Plimsolls: as before   Hat and bag: Primark

So we are soon to be on our way to my hometown of Brighton to celebrate my sisters hen do and I cannot wait to become one of the typical hen groups that have a weekend down to the seaside, am just hoping for some sunshine.

I found these photos from the last time I spent some proper time there, which was September last year and, although I love Brighton all the time, it is particularly great when the sun is shining so much. Apart from all the regular tourist attractions, (which I still enjoy going round), there is so much to find in Brighton and something for everyone. Hmm..is making me miss home now but not long and will be there again!
